Show me something I’ve never seen before…

“An art director once gave me this direction during a project I was working on, and it has been my inspiration ever since. Art for me is a living, growing experience and therefore it remains exciting. I love the process of making art and have explored old techniques and created new ones, so I feel very comfortable working both traditionally and non-traditionally. I love the company of artists and have found a truly wonderful community of them here in San Diego. I hope to remain here and to work here until I’m gone.”

Sullivan is a native Californian, working as a full-time artist since 1965. Attending Chouinard School of Art in Los Angeles, Sullivan went on to work in the film industry, participating in various projects including 2001 A Space Odyssey and most recently, Lost World, a sequel to Jurassic Park. She is currently the official artist of the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum, producing two limited edition prints for the museum in 1997. She has also been president of the San Diego Art Institute board four times in the past.

A retrospective of Ms. Sullivan’s work was chosen for the inaugral book published by the San Diego Art Institute Press in 2001. Proceeds from the sale of this and the books to come will benefit the San Diego Art Institute, a non-profit foundation since 1941, created to advance the visual arts through education, exhibition and outreach programs.
